I threw this look together in a matter of about 2 minutes because it was just one of those ‘throw on & go’ kinda days. I’m in a hurry pretty much 24/7 (and I hate it .. ask anyone who knows me lol), so over the years, I have had to learn how to throw on layers and accessories as I am literally walking out the door, while heading to my next meeting, appointment, dinner, event, etc etc etc.
Sheesh, even the thought of it wears me out to be honest. But, it’s part of it!

I have to explain something about the title of this post real quick because there are actually a couple of meanings of fast fashion in my book. One is, of course, the original term that is used when we talk about the fashions that are seen on the catwalks & then, are almost instantly being sold in trendy retailers (like H&M, Zara, Topshop) soon after. The second definition of fast fashion, for me, is exactly what it sounds like, haha! It’s simply my own personal idea of being in a huge rush but still wanting to look cute & stylish. Can you relate??? I figure most girls can.
Most days when I am rushed or I’m in a super big hurry, I’ll throw on some basic jeans, a sweater, & some OTK boots (or even some booties) … all pretty simple right?! But then to amp it up a little, I’ll grab a scarf & a hat to throw on while I’m walking out the door (These two accessories are always my go-to’s this time of year). Y’all know I LOVE hats. I’ll wear them even on the days that I have clean hair because sometimes a hat just makes your outfit pop. However, to be completely honest, I literally didn’t even brush out my hair when I threw this outfit on, hence the reason why I left my hair all bundled up in my scarf. Don’t judge, y’all … we’ve all been there, lol!! 😉 Now, you don’t even have to worry about fixing your hair, picking out a necklace or trying to find the match to that earring you want to wear because the hat & scarf simply take care of it all. Especially during this time of year, it’s so easy to go for this bundled up, cozy, messy-ish look and it be totally okay! Actually, more than okay. This particular style is encouraged these days … and I’m real happy about it!
Now, not only do I have a cute & fashionable look for the day, but it all came together in a matter of minutes – PTL! Don’t get me wrong, this fashionista looooves spending HOURS in the closet styling and putting outfits together, but only in a perfect world would I have enough time to do that every single day. It just doesn’t happen that way, and that’s okay because with my personal version of fast fashion, you can look still look super cute and make it to your next meeting … that starts in less than 10 minutes.
TIP: Wear bold lips.
One more quick tip that helps me whenever I am in a hurry getting ready is to throw on some bold lipstick. Y’all know that my go-to color is Mac’s Ruby Woo (it just really goes with anything & everything + it stays on ALL day long). If you like a matte liquid lipstick, I also used Mac’s Liquid lipsticks in the shade ‘Fashion Legacy’ — basically the same color of Ruby Woo. If you don’t have time to throw on a full face of makeup, then trust me, it is not the day to wear your really light nude lipstick because chances are, it will just make you look washed out & tired. Nude lips are great – if you have the time to throw on a little extra face / eye makeup. But if you only have time for one coat of mascara & lipstick, then go with a brighter option for your lips to make your whole look seem more put together.
Hopefully some of these tips will help y’all as much as they have helped me over the years. If there is one thing that I am really good at, it’s being in a hurry & having a million places to be at once, haha! So, trust me on this one. 🙂 These tips have stood the test of time. (So punny!)
