Trend Alert

Happy Sunday, pretties! Tonight, we’re talking all things trendy. It has always fascinated me how fashion evolves and styles come back around, and this year … some of my faves are BACK!

One of my favorite quotes comes from Yves Saint Laurent … He said:

‘Fashions fade, style is eternal.’

… and I couldn’t agree more. Fashions (& trends) will always fade. Some will come back around, and some will evolve into a better version of ‘that trend’ in the future. That is one of my favorite things about fashion – seeing how certain trendy looks will come back around and incorporating those new trends into my own personal STYLE.

Trends are not meant to be one of those things we wear EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. You have YOUR own personal style that you will portray in your everyday looks, and then you just incorporate the trends into your own ETERNAL style every once in awhile.

Now, don’t get me wrong though … I am LOVING the new trends that have just recently come back around. I’m a 90s girl, so this whole choker thing we all have going on right now makes my nostalgic heart VERY happy! (Who else remembers wearing all the Mary Kate & Ashley chokers growing up?? I’m pretty sure I collected them all at one point when I was little.)

Another trend that I am loving right now is the BODYSUIT! It adds such a smooth finish to any outfit … whether it’s paired with distressed denim, high-waisted shorts or your favorite pencil skirt. I love the fact that you can dress bodysuits up or down + they are so easy to layer with (I’m all about some layering, y’all!).

The last big trend I want to focus on tonight is the ‘belt trend’. With all this bodysuit-tucking-in stuff, comes lots of belts. They fell off of the fashion planet for a few years, but now they are back & I really couldn’t be happier. The one I am wearing in this post was my mom’s (she has a ton so I always use hers!) but I linked a cute one from Nordstrom & they have tons on there to choose from.

Some would argue that the leather jacket is a trendy piece … not in my closet. I’ve had this one that I am wearing literally since high school & somehow, it is still holding up! My beloved leather jacket is a total STAPLE in my closet & I may cry when it finally gives out on me.

There are sooo many cute, trendy looks out there right now (OTS is one of my FAVES!) … but it is so important not to let them takeover your entire wardrobe because in a few months, they will be out and something new will be coming in. WHO DOESN’T get excited about new trends & going shopping for the newest big thing?! We just have to make sure to incorporate them with a balance in mind, and then of course, get pumped up about what’s going to be in style next!

Your own style is the overall main focus, so I always try to picture these fun trends as the cherry on top of the sundae – a little something extra to add to the foundation. (… &&& now I want ice cream.)

Thanks for stopping by, fashionistas! Hope you had a fabulous weekend!!
