Monday again already? That weekend literally flew by! Yesterday I took over The Pink Bride’s Snapchat (@pinkbrideco), Insta, Facebook & Twitter during their Chattanooga Pink Bride Wedding Show, and it was a blast! Today, my Monday looks a little different than usual, and I can’t wait to share why it looks different with y’all in a few days. Stay tuned 🙂
I wanted to share this urban outfit with you all because it is one of easiest looks to achieve (& one of my all time favorite styles)! When I think of urban style, I think American grunge, carefree, and practical. To be honest, this is my type of style on most days, unless I am feeling super basic & then I’ll just throw on my leggings & Uggs (+ a Starbs cup in my hand). Everyone has those days, lol!
I am a huge believe in words. They are so powerful and inspiring. This is one of the reasons why I personally love writing. Growing up, a lot of people portrayed me as being shy – which in some ways, I definitely was. That’s when I really fell in love with quotes and words – mottos to ‘live by’ you could say. At times, I felt like a lot of people just didn’t understand who I was, so I would return to my inspirational quotes to help me get by and feel more relatable. Even though I have a much more open personality now than when I was younger, I would say that I’m overall just an analyzer – and I always have been. I have always taken a step back and read the situation (or the person) before I completely ‘let go’ or let someone in. That’s just who I am.
A lot of times when I have the feeling to get inspired or even if I am just longing for a few words that I can relate to for motivation, I will get on Pinterest & begin searching my board, ‘he said, she said’. It’s basically a board I’ve collected over many years of quotes I have related to at some point in my life, along with a few artsy pictures that I feel like speak for themselves. So, today I’m sharing some things I’ve pinned on that board that always encourage and push me to be the best version of myself and to make things happen.
With Valentine’s day quickly approaching, I thought it was only appropriate to share this casual date night look with you all. Of course, a lot of fashionistas tend to get all fancy on V-Day (and trust me, there’s some LNL outfit inspo coming your way in that category), but some people may be laying low and just going for a casual dinner date or bringing the kiddos along on a family Valentine’s date. This look is completely appropriate for that, but it will still be attractive to your man!
Happy Wedding Wednesday lovely ladies! Before I even dive into all things hair and makeup for your wedding day, I wanted to point out that The Pink Bride Wedding Show will be in Chattanooga this weekend, and I’ll be there! I’d absolutely love to see you and chat with all of you gorgeous brides-to be! let me know if you are planning to attend. 🙂
Now, to dig into wedding day glam!
If there’s one question that I have gotten almost more than any other wedding-related questions, it’s been about hair and makeup. But, of course that is a really important part of your big day, so I totally get it! There are sooo many details to think about and you obviously want someone who you trust (in a big way) on your ‘glam squad’ on the most special day of your life. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing beauty team take care of my girls and me on the big day, so take a peek into how I decided on this company & how great all of our looks turned out – all thanks to Bangs & Blush!
It’s no lie that I am a total ‘girly girl’, but there (of course) are times when my edgy style steps in to camouflage that a little bit. However, my heart has a special place for feminine, chic styles that let my true personality shine through – sassy & girly.
I’ve always said that I have multiple personal styles because it just depends on the mood I am in that day when I am standing in front of my racks of clothes. I may pull out my ratty boyfriend jeans with holes the size of Mars or I may pull out my textured tights with a frilly dress & heels. I looove this quote that you may have seen before:
When a woman says, “I have nothing to wear!” What she really means is, “There’s nothing here for who I’m supposed to be today.” -Caitlin Moran
And that’s just it. When you go to your closet, think to yourself ‘Who do I want to be today?’ … I believe that everyone has their main style that they stick to most of the time, but having a few extra styles to mix in every now and then is a good thing! I’m all about mixing things up in life – fashion trends, mascaras, shampoos, margaritas (lol, literally). Never get too comfortable, even in your own personal style – when you challenge yourself to step outside of the box, you usually discover something incredible! There may be days when you feel carefree & adventurous so your style should reflect that. The next day, you may feel like a professional businesswoman ready to get things done! On this particular day, I was feeling extra girly and chic, but instead of grabbing one of my go-to feminine looks, I challenged myself to find a new combo that would make myself step out of the box – out of my comfort zone – into something new & fresh.
It’s a rainy Monday here in Knoxville today .. blah.
But, rainy days don’t mean that your outfit has to suffer! Is it just me or wouldn’t we all just love to curl up in our favorite leggings or sweats on a rainy day? But sometimes when I do that I tend to not be as productive as I could (& should) be, especially on a Monday. So, today I’m sharing this rain-appropriate look with y’all that will still be super comfortable, quick & easy … but it’s also fun & bright, and it makes you feel like you actually got ready for your day! Over the years, I’ve found that when you look good and put a little extra effort into getting ready for your day, you automatically feel better and get more things checked off your to do list.
If you are like me, you absolutely love wearing big, beautiful earrings but you have to be careful when it comes to how heavy they are. My ears have always been so sensitive, and I actually wore a pair of earrings to a prom when I was in high school that were so heavy they ended up stretching one of my earring holes. 🙁 So needless to say, I now have to be very careful with my earring choices.
Being a fashionista and loving all things flashy & stylish, I tend to always fall in love with the big, heavy earrings. Of course, I want them all, but I have to say no a lot of the time and then keep searching for lighter pair that are just as cute. Does anyone else have this problem? I’m guessing no one really thinks that huge earrings are super comfortable regardless, but either way, I’ve found some that are super on-trend & lightweight enough for even me to wear so I want to share them with you all. (ps – I’m also giving away a pair of these earrings over on my Instagram! More details at the bottom of this post!) Lisi Lerch was one of the original starters of the tassel earring trend that we all know and love today! If you don’t have a pair of tassels yet, then definitely be sure to enter my giveaway on Insta because they are basically equivalent to LBD’s – every girl must have some.
But, it’s never too early to start preparing! Swimsuit season and Spring Break will be here before we know it! I don’t know about y’all, but every year, I usually start shopping for swimsuits and resort wear around this time before all the sizes sell out of the good stuff. In the past, I’ve always headed straight to Victoria’s Secret first in my swimsuit search because their pricing was pretty affordable and I loved all of the options that they provided in the swim category. The pieces fit me well, and I felt comfortable in them! However … we all know by now that my usual game plan isn’t going to happen anymore because VS stopped carrying swimwear. Say whaaat?! Like, I’m still kind of in shock to be honest. And, I’m especially going to miss seeing the VS Angel Swim Special this year – bummer. (ps – I’m obsessed with the Angels if you don’t already know that about me lol!)
Deals. We all love ’em right? I recently found that one of my absolute favorite pair of pants are on sale right now annnd fully stocked in all sizes! I mean, how often does that really happen? Usually, if something is on super sale, the sizes are gone in a matter of minutes.
So, with that said, I need to get right to it so that you all don’t miss out on this incredible deal!
I’ve completely fallen in love with the brand, William Rast, y’all. These pants I am wearing literally feel exactly like leggings, but they look a lot dressier than just throwing on your go-to black leggings. They’re made out of a stretchy, faux suede material, and the zippers on the pockets add such an edgy touch. I also love the moto pants look about them and the fact that they are super skinny at the bottom to tuck into boots. BEST part? They are only $24.99 right now in the black and the wine color.
At least if it’s going to be another Monday, we can throw on our sassiest pair of boots and step outside of the box with our style to make us feel better right? Plus, it is Bachelor Monday, after all! I guess Monday’s aren’t all that bad, lol. 😉
I think we all have our own personal ‘style’, but on some days, my style varies. One day, I’ll be wearing all black, while the next day I have on 47 different bright colors. Some days it’s sassy and girly & the next day, it’s as edgy as it can get. It’s no secret that I love to wear some edgy styles, but I also love chic, feminine looks. With this #ootd, I decided to mix the two styles together. Obviously, the overall look shows off some edge, but I added some feminine touches with the tights and the long strand of pearls. My philosophy with pearls is right there in line with Carrie Bradshaw’s … it’s pretty much always okay to throw on a long strand & the longer, the better!
