Oversized Ponchos + OTK Boots

Tis the season for big, chunky sweaters, cute boots & all things oversized! These days, who doesn’t love wearing pieces that are oversized (esp. in the winter)?! This has become one of the most popular trends over the past few years, and I’m a big fan because it’s flattering on every body type, so comfortable and can be styled in many different ways.

Speaking of … ponchos, capes & wraps are the big must-haves for the upcoming season. Annnd um, PTL for that because they make us girls feel so stylish, totally comfy and WARM throughout even the longest (& coldest) days.

I particularly love this longer poncho because, for one, it has arm holes which is great if you are like me & don’t like having to re-adjust your outfit all day long (plus, y’all know I love ANYTHING with some extra length). And two, it can be worn so many different ways. In these photos, it was actually my first time styling it as more of a dress, & I was pretty excited with the outcome (Don’t you guys love when you just literally throw something together that you’ve never worn before & it just works – usually even better than when you plan an outfit over the course of 2 hours lol!). I have also worn this poncho with jeans or black leggings for a more casual look. With my black leggings, I like to wear my go-to flat, OTK boots from Tory Burch (seriously, y’all reeeeally need these!). On the other hand, if I am going for a dressier look (i.e. date night, GNO, a fashion event), then I would definitely pair it with these OTK boots with a heel. AND, yes … you could definitely wear these boots even with the leggings as well.

Ponchos, wraps & capes are great because they are so versatile. No matter the weather in your area during this time of year – from the upper 70’s to lower 20’s – you can make this look work. If it is still warm in your neighborhood, then pair your poncho with a tank or short sleeve top underneath and cuffed jeans with booties. You’ll still have that ‘winter fashion’ feel until the temps drop a little more. If your weather is the opposite of that and you are already experiencing snowy weather, simply add a thicker turtleneck, gloves, a scarf & even a cute beanie / ear muffs to stay warm. Trust me, if there’s one thing that I have had my fair share of while living in Tennessee, it’s definitely learning how to adapt to the most randomdrastic weather changes – overnight. So, I have had plenty of practice with having to come up with different ways to style and wear certain pieces that I was planning on incorporating into my #ootd. Sometimes, you just have to work around the circumstances & be creative with your looks!

I’m linking a few more of my favorite ponchos, capes & wraps below. Some are on my wishlist for Christmas + I have linked a ton of my absolute favorite over-the-knee boots in THIS POST so be sure to check those out as well!
