One of the most commonly asked questions I receive (especially as a new season rolls around): “What should I wear to _____ wedding?” Recently, the questions have revolved around what types of dresses to wear to spring weddings, which makes complete sense because April (and especially May) really kicks off the spring wedding season. I thought it would be best for me to compile my top picks for spring wedding attire in one big blog post, that way you can come back to it as needed each time you receive another invite in the mail and will have many options to choose from. (Most of the dresses included in this post could also work for summer weddings as well!)
“I DO” Crew, Last Night Before Mr. Right, Last Fling Before the Ring, Night on the Town Before the Gown, Bach Bash, Kiss the Miss Goodbye, Bride Tribe, Pop the Bubbly – She’s Getting a Hubby!
Can you guess what this post is about? 😉 Today, we’re talking about bachelorette parties, and more importantly, what to wear to them! I’ve recently received so many requests for a post going over all of my tips of what to wear (and perhaps, what not to wear) to a bachelorette party as a bridesmaid or friend of the bride.
I was one of the first ones in my friend group to get married, but I have also been in a few weddings as a bridesmaid as well, so I’ve seen both sides and have some great pointers to share with you all today — what to wear, how to act, what not to do … I’m covering it all!
Late last night, I was sitting on my couch doing some blog work, when all of a sudden I stumbled across something on Instagram that instantly gave me a bitter taste in my mouth and made me feel so discouraged in that moment. All these thoughts started rushing to my mind … “Why not me?” … “I just don’t get it” … “That is so unfair” … “Why am I trying to do things the right way when the people who are doing things the wrong way are getting rewarded and I’m not?” … “I work 12+ hour work days to try and set myself apart & I still am not enough in their eyes” … I could go on, but you get the point.
Thankfully, my moment of comparison lasted only for a few minutes because I’ve already played the comparison game way too many times to count, so I’ve finally learned how to turn all of those negative thoughts about myself into something that wouldn’t tear me down, but possibly just build me back up. (*Disclaimer: I really feel like this moment last night was a God thing because I was just talking last week on my IG stories about comparison, and SO many of you wanted me to write a blog post about how I overcome those struggles. Sooo, HERE WE ARE! He really works in mysterious, yet amazing ways.)
Today, we’re taking it back to the basics, y’all! (and no, I’m not talking about the Ugg boots + Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte kinda #basic 😉 )
Extravagant, unique, out of the box outfits are my JAM … but we all need some good basics in our lives. They are the filler pieces in our wardrobes that never go out of style, the perfect layering options, and of course, the real life everyday “I need to hurry and throw something on before I’m late” go-to pieces that we all reach for time and time again. They’re classics!
Easter is just 10 days away, friends! If you haven’t found your dress yet, today is the day! Just ordered mine. 🙂
I love Easter for so many reasons — it’s one of my favorite holidays, actually! In our family, we have a few special traditions that I love, but one thing I love most is the feeling of the fresh, spring air outside while we’re hunting eggs and taking family photos.
But of course, the main reason I love this holiday is because it’s such a special reminder of Jesus’ love for us. All my life, I’ve been celebrating the meaning of Easter and the resurrection of our Savior, and even after all these years, I can never hold back the tears of joy or chills running down my body each time I hear the story of the empty tomb. (Just typing that out brings tears to my eyes!) He IS risen, indeed!
If you have yet to find the perfect Easter dress for your Sunday morning worship service or your family brunch, have no fear! I’ve always got your back ladies!
If you would have told me two years ago when I walked into @twooldhippies for the first time to snag a souvenir ball cap that I would be partnering with them today, I wouldn’t have believed you for even a second. Two Old Hippies has been at the top of my bucket list of brands to work with since I started this journey so when they reached out to me to work together, you know I was pinching myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. God works in amazing ways y’all!
Old enough to have been around when the concept of peace, love and rock n’ roll inspired a generation of free spirits. Young enough to embrace a world community, where generosity, compassion and equality are a way of life. We celebrate living every day.
Before going any further, I want to highly encourage you all to read more about how Two Old Hippies got their start and turned into what it is today — it’s really an inspiring story!
Since it is Wednesday, I’m throwing it back to my Wedding Wednesday days and calling ALL brides-to-be! I hear wedding bells!
Looking back on my time as a bride makes me so nostalgic, so I’m happy to get to help you ladies out while you’re searching for the perfect bride gear to wear as you prepare to become a wife. This is such a special time in your life that you will look back on for years to come, and I want to mainly encourage you all to soak up every. single. moment. (even the stressful ones 😉 ).
Happy Women’s Day to all my favorite babes out there!!
On this day, I want to share a special letter to each of you ladies reading this right now. I hope you’ll read it all the way through and enjoy it – xo.
To my LNL Babes …
Recently, I’ve received SO many requests to write a post about outfit ideas for graduations, spring weddings, spring break, tropical getaways, bachelorette parties, etc etc etc. The list goes on! Thankfully, I had this post scheduled out on my content calendar for this month, so I’m happy that I’ll now be able to help you all find the perfect dress, set, or romper that you’re searching for.
In this post, I’ve included mostly dresses, but also a few rompers, 2-piece sets, and jumpsuits that are perfect for every occasion you may have coming up this spring or summer. I feel like all of these pieces pretty much fall into the same category, so I decided to include a few of each!
Happy Friday, friends! There are tons and tons of amazing sales happening today and into the weekend, so if you have that itch to start some spring shopping like I do, definitely check out this whole post for lots of great deals! The first one I want to focus on is possibly one of the best sales of the year …
Shopbop’s Buy More, Save More Sale is going on right now, and it’s GOOD y’all! I browsed through the entire site to find the top picks and best deals for the upcoming seasons, and I’ve included some options below that I thought y’all would like, if you want to browse through them for yourself. My biggest recommendation with this particular sale is to of course stay within your budget, but keep in mind that it’s good to go ahead and splurge on the more big ticket or luxury items because the more you spend, the more you save. For instance, I am stocking up on all my One Teaspoon shorts and AG denim for the season. This is also a great time to buy that pair of designer shoes or sunglasses that you’ve been longing for because you can score a major discount!
