I’m so thrilled to be teaming up with one of my good friends and insanely talented photographer, Sarah McAffry, to kick off my first holiday gift idea for the Christmas season! If you are a young girl between the ages of 10 and 16 years old or you have a daughter, sister, cousin or friend between 10-16, this is for you! Sarah and I have come up with the perfect gift idea for this beautiful, young lady – a Becoming Session. This is a photo shoot that is all about them! It’s a total girl day all about embracing who you are, finding […]
Over the knee (or thigh high) boots are some of my all time favorite shoes to wear no matter the outfit or the occasion. I’m one of those girls who owns a few different pairs because I feel like they amp up so many outfits and make such a statement. But styling them can sometimes be challenging — you must find the right height for your leg length (my shorter friends always joke that my OTK boots would cover their whole leg lol) and of course make sure that the outfit you’re wearing with them is appropriate for that particular style.
I recently ordered this grey-taupe pair, and I’ve honestly been wearing them nonstop since they came in. I. Am. Obsessed. They are the perfect height for my leg and are actually come up a little higher on my legs, compared to some of my other OTK boots — and I love it! I particularly love that they are tight enough on my legs to where I don’t have to constantly pull at them to keep them up above my knee, however, they’re not so tight to where they squeeze my legs to make indentions. And the color? Perfection — it goes with anything and everything. The heel height is also amazing because it gives you a little lift without hurting my feel all day. They are truly so comfortable!
This has been by far one of the most requested topics that you all have been wanting me to write about, and I’ve honestly been putting it off because I’m not one of those pro workout gurus, nor do I have a strict fitness routine or healthy eating plan. I know – sue me lol. But honestly, I’ve been just asking myself what I would talk about in the post and what I could share that would even be beneficial to some of you. Because a lot of you are probably reading this hoping to find a new, magic workout or something, but if I’m being real with y’all, my fitness routine and eating plans may not be exactly what you are expecting.
I feel like a lot of people these days are so into the whole fitness, meal planning stuff and I think that is awesome (for some people) but for me, I’m just not at a place in my life where I want to start focusing my time and efforts into all of that just yet. I’ve seen so many different routines work for many different people, and believe it or not, I’m like everyone else in the world. I’ve literally tried everything in order to find the ‘trick’ to toning up fast or losing those extra 5 pounds in a week … let’s face it, we all do it. But me personally, I’ve only found one thing that I can truly stick to and that actually works …
It’s almost Halloween!!!! I don’t know about y’all, but I’ll take any excuse to get dressed up in a ridiculous costume & put fun makeup on my face that I wouldn’t normally wear. Halloween is the perfect time of year to be something that you’re not, however, when most people think of costumes for this occasion, they think that they have to go out & buy one of those $80+ outfits (that they’ll never wear again) from the pop-up Halloween store. But that’s not always the case!
I created this post to inspire you all to channel your creativity this Halloween because you’d be surprised how many things you can dress up as by just using the pieces that are already in your closet. As a stylist, this is like a fun game for me because it really challenges me to piece together clothes (that I normally wouldn’t) to create a theatrical, out of the box look. I challenge you to get creative for your Halloween parties coming up this weekend – don’t break the bank on a skimpy silly cop, nurse, army, or pirate costume. You can most likely create a look just as appealing and attractive if you just look through all the pieces that you already own. There’s bound to be something that you can piece together and make look fabulous!
Finally Friday, y’all!! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m beyond ready for the weekend.
Since I started a new series here on LNL, I’m going to let today be the last FAQ Friday for awhile. I’m so glad you all have enjoyed them, so they may not be going away forever. Actually, I haven’t even gotten the chance to post another FAQ Friday in awhile because of travel and other collaborations going on, so today’s is a pretty long one. I’m catching up on all of the questions I’ve been getting over the past few weeks, and I hope you all enjoy! If you have any other questions that I didn’t cover, feel free to comment below this blog post.
It’s finally here!!
Today I am starting a series that has been in the works for MONTHS now. It’s been something that I’ve wanted to share with y’all for a really long time because I get so many questions about it and because I remember exactly the way I felt when I took my first step into the blogging world. You’re so hopeful of what will come of it, but at the same time, it’s beyond overwhelming & confusing. Today, we’re starting a journey together where I will be sharing the tips and tricks I’ve received and learned along the way in this blogging world.
For those of you who are new bloggers or influencers, social media gurus, or just want to know the behind the scenes of how this career works, this series is for you. I’ll be sharing SO MUCH of what I’ve learned in my own journey to success, plus some secrets that will make your blogging life a little easier. Over the past year, I’ve paid for courses to help me gain knowledge in this industry and I’ve made some amazing connections with others who have been so generous to share their wealth of knowledge with little ole me (read about a few of them that I mentioned in this post). I’m forever grateful for their support and guidance, and I feel like it’s only right for me to pay it forward to all of you who have been messaging me for help on your own blogs or social media outlets. So, hold on tight because I promise you are in for a treat …
I recently bought this oversized, longline denim jacket from Topshop, and to be completely honest, I’m surprised I’ve gotten to wear it as many times as I have already. It’s just so versatile that you can style it many different ways and really never wear the same look twice. I also styled it with an athleisure outfit in this post.
Ever since middle school, I’ve always loved a classic denim jacket (just ask my teachers and old classmates!), so I’m pretty pumped that they are coming back in style this season. However, I want to showcase a new, more trendy take on this ‘classic’ piece.
Gone are the days when jackets were only worn as an extra layer to keep you warm. In today’s fashion world, more pieces of outerwear are being worn on their own – as dresses. And frankly, I love the idea.
So, y’all know that the fall weather has been really slow getting here to East Tennessee, but the leaves are beginning to change and it’s finally starting to take a turn toward cooler temps (meaning like 70’s — sometimes 60’s if we’re lucky. But I’ll take it!).
I’ve definitely become that ‘basic’ girl that every makes memes about because I’ve been burning my fall candles (nonstop — like most of them are already burned to the bottom!!), sipping on some hot cider, making chili for the hubs, the whole shebang! No PSL from Starbucks for me though so I guess it could be worse 😉 I don’t know why, but I’m just not really into them. I’m more of a boring, regular coffee kinda girl 90% of the time haha!
Anyways, to celebrate my excitement for the season with you all, I wanted to put together this full post where I basically lay out ALLLL of the things that I’m currently craving – or wearing – during this time of year + a few products that I’ve been raving about and have gotten a lot of questions about on Instagram lately.
Today is a (very) special day here at love ‘n’ labels because we’re turning 1!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LNL!
I’ll be honest … when I sat down to write this blog post, I had no clue where to start. There’s so much I want to say and so many people I want to thank for helping me get to where I am today. So, I’m just going to start rambling off all of the thoughts that are jumbled inside my head right now as I reflect on my first year in the blogging world … here we go!
When I published my very first blog post (don’t judge, we’ve come a loooong way ha!) this time last year, I honestly had no idea what I was doing, what all I was getting myself into, and how much work came with running a successful brand and fashion blog. But over the past year, I have learned so much about the blogging industry, about myself, about other people, about having an audience and about the fashion world as a whole. To celebrate and further reflect on my first year of blogging, I want to share a few things that I have learned that continue to stick out to me time and time again:
I typically don’t post here on the blog on Mondays but tonight, I felt led to share not only this really cute transitional outfit for fall, but also a few things I’ve had on my mind today.
First off, I wanted to share this cute #ootd that I wore not too long ago because it’s (finally) starting to feel like fall here in Tennessee … well, as much as it can for this time of year. If you’re from this area or anywhere in the south, you may know what I mean. It usually stays pretty warm around here until November or December (although last year on Christmas, it was still in the 70’s…), but this month, the temps have already started dropping a little bit. And you won’t hear me complaining! I’m ready to start breaking out the beanies & blanket scarves, but I still think I’ll have to wait awhile for that.
Anyways, if you’re like me and still stuck in a semi-warm climate for a few more months, you’ll fall in love with easy outfits like this one that will help you transition into fall. Like, the REAL fall (meaning temps into the 50s & 60s). 😉
I try my best to stick to a consistent schedule here on LNL (minus when I am traveling at times) but I guess that’s one of the beauties of being your own boss … when you feel inspired, you start writing. No matter the time, the place or the day. So here I sit taking a bubble bath, winding down for the day. Total silence. Just me & my thoughts. I actually love it – most of the time. But today, only thoughts of sorrow & pain fill my mind for the tragedy that happened here in the States last night. Does anyone else feel like it’s been very difficult to go about your normal day or is it just me??
I’ve been speechless since I woke up this morning and heard about the news. One of my blogger besties texted me first thing (she didn’t know if I had made it back from my trip to Vegas last week) asking, “ARE YOU OKAY?” “Are you hurt???” “I just heard about the LV shooting…”
